Grade:                        N/A

Salary Range:          $45,177.60 - $90,916.80

This position is responsible for coordinating public relations services for McDuffie County, the City of Thomson, the Town of Dearing, and Forward McDuffie through the following:

• Enhance branding
• Increase positive media presence
• Improve clarity, efficiency, and implementation of Archway Partnership projects
• Improve communication between government entities
• Increase public involvement and knowledge through better, controlled public messaging and increased communication through traditional and social media platforms
• Improve communication with employees and stakeholders
• Improve regional profile
• Strengthen relationships with local businesses and industries

Minimum Job Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, public administration or a related field with a high-level knowledge of media relations required, or an equivalent combination of training and experience can substitute for the degree; Master’s degree preferred.  Five or more years of experience in media relations, government relations, and/or community relations including spokesperson responsibilities for a complex public or private organization desired.
