Municipal Court
The Thomson Municipal Court is responsible for handling all misdemeanor traffic cases, city ordinance violations and certain state misdemeanor crimes in which prosecution is initiated by the Thomson Police Department or other police agencies (Georgia State Patrol) for violations occurring within the city limits of Thomson.
The Municipal Court clerk’s office is located at 309 Main Street.
The court sessions are held at 337 Main Street (old McDuffie County Courthouse) on the second floor, on the second Tuesday of every month.
Office Hours
Monday-Friday (Closed weekends and holidays)
8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Occasionally we may have to close for lunch, please call ahead)
Court – Second Tuesday of the month at 5:30 PM (Rare occasions, we reschedule due to conflicts)
Additional Important Information:
The Judge is only present during court sessions. He does not have an office and is not available to discuss your case prior to your court date. It is your responsibility to provide any evidence you have on your assigned court date.
The court clerk cannot discuss the stop that resulted in citations being issued, give legal advice or recommend attorneys.
