Downtown Thomson Park
McDuffie County will build a new park adjacent to the county government center in downtown Thomson.
The three-acre site along Railroad Street will include playgrounds, picnic areas, a water fountain, an amphitheater and other amenities. Officials hope the park will become a centerpiece for the revitalization of downtown Thomson. Officials expect construction to begin in late 2023 and take about 18 months to complete.

Note: Both funding sources can only be used for the specified projects. For the grant funding, the application was for the downtown park. For SPLOST dollars, the project list was approved by voters and any changes have to go back before voters.
